Partners Community Health supports hundreds of programs run throughout the Greater Boston area. Through initiatives that include access to health care, prevention, and workforce development, Partners and its hospitals are making a difference in the communities in which we live and work.
One of these is the Student Success Jobs Program (SSJP), run out of the Center for Community Health and Health Equity at Brigham and Women's Hospital. SSJP an intensive year-round employment and mentoring program for students of Boston Public High Schools. With the goal of addressing the underrepresentation of young people of color in health and science careers, SSJP targets 10th through 12th grade students providing the opportunity to build skills and a career pathway in the health and science field. BWH employees provided intensive mentoring to students in a dynamic and professional hospital environment.
The video below features alumni from the SSJP and how their experiences in the internship program helped steer their career paths.
